The Weather in Snow Lake is very cold. It is snowing every weekand then melting, in MAY. I really do hope that the weather is going to get hot and we are going to have a very hot summer because our winter wasn’t a very nice winter either. The hottest day we had this month was about +24 but that was only for the afternoon that we were in school for. But ut was still really nice because we weren’t used of that really hot weather. At nights it can sometimes get to about -15. We have a big lake that is in Snow Lake and you can see a lot of water at some places but at others all you can see is ice but the ice isn’t white it is a grey kind of colour, which means that there is water right underneath it.
School is so close of being done, only 4 more full weeks till exams. My goal for this year is to make sure that I get exempted for at least 2 exams. I really do hope that these weeks go really fast. After exam week the week after is just 2 more days of school, for cleaning everything out and getting everything home and then the next day will be our awards.
This is New Delhi it is the capital of India. New Delhi is known by the many loving people there. I picked this place because I knew that India had a lot of tourist that go there and see alot of stuff there. In New Delhi it is a very big place and have lots of people there. Also in India there is lots of old buildings, there are also some people that would dream about to go to new delhi and see them. Also in India and New Delhi the weather is very nice and hot, in the summer and in winter.
It started off when Laurie was going to the football game to tell Amy something. She got to the stands and Brad made her stop. He said that she could not go up there unless she did The Wave salute. She fought against Brad but he said that most people in the stands had to say The Wave salute. The next day Laurie was printing the new paper about the Wave. Than Laurie went to go and talk to Amy again. Laurie told her about a guy that had gotten beet up because he didn’t want to join the wave. She didn’t care at all, because she knew that the wave was the right place to be. The Grapevine was a very big hit for this week. There were also rumours going around that teachers and parents had been to the principal’s office and been complaining. David and Brain had this plan that they were going to talk to Laurie and tell her to stop making those stories in the news papers. Ben and his wife were at home and Christy told that he has gone way too far and that he needs to stop the wave group soon. Ben finally understood and was planning a way to stop the wave without hurting the kids. Laurie was in the office cleaning it up. When she was done she went to her locker and when she was standing there she heard someone walking down the hall way so she quickly ran out of the school. When she got to the tennis court she saw David and he came over to talk to her. He was telling her to stop writeing the stories in the new paper and through her down on the ground. After a while Laurie told him what she thought and he saw her point. So David and Laurie went to Ben’s house and told him that you need to put a stop. The next day at school sounded Mr. Ross was making to group even better. So David and Laurie spoke up and got sent to the office. Mr. Ross got all the Wave members together and told them that the Wave group is over and also showed the video that he showed the class at the starting of it. Mr. Ross was sad that the group was over and so were all the kids that were in it.
I don’t understand why David would even want to try and hurt her because she is just trying to get everyone to stop being in the wave so it doesn’t go WAY out of hand. At one part of the chapters there was a plan that David and Brain were going to tell her to stop having stories on The Wave and David the one that had to talk to her but he didn’t know if it was a good idea to do it or not. But when David was talking to Laurie by the tennis court he go so mad that he through her down on the ground and he felt bad after when she was picking up her books so he asked her if she was ok. Laurie also thought that David was going to get back with her because he wanted to talk but she did not want to get back with him at all.
I like the parts were Mr. Ross finally understands a little bit that the wave group is going a little bit out of hand and it has gone way too far. Then he decides to stop it and also promises Laurie and David that everything is going to be ok and by tomorrow the Wave will be like it has never started in the first place. When he gets to school the next day and the way he made it sound to the class was not the way Laurie and David planed it to be like they thought that he was that he was trying to make the wave group keep on going and make it better than what it was. Than Laurie and David spoke up and was telling them that the wave has to end than they got sent to the principal office for only trying to help Mr. Ross stop it. I think that at that point Mr. Ross was being too hard on them about that and he should have listened to them all along and it may had been easier for him to end it and easier for the students.
On the map New Delhi is 28 degrees north and 77 degrees east. New Delhi is on the right bank of the Yamuna River. It is known as a state of lively people. New Delhi is the second-largest metropolis in India and the eighth largest metropolis in the world by population.
New Delhi is a capital that is all about the streets. On the streets they are always jammed packed with cars and motorbikes. In New Delhi there is lots of shopping. On the streets there are streets sellers that sell what they like to do or their talent for money so they can afford food or just for some people to see what they like to do. The power lines from people’s houses are also running up on the streets, the cords are very messy and not organized; it looks like a bunch of strings that are impossible to get out.
The climate in New Delhi is very hot and humid. There are rainy days there and some days are very hot. Winter mornings it is very foggy outside with a thick layer of smog everywhere you look. The best time to visit New Delhi is November to March because those are the winter months and it is not so hot there. If you go in the summer time it is too hot to go or do anything there.
Ben Ross wasn’t quite sure what to make out of The Wave. All the students that were in the class when the wave started were spreading the news around and telling people to join. His class got larger all the time. The Wave had even helped the football team. Laurie was in the publications office for her news paper, The Gordon Graorvine. For the newspaper no one had any stories to put in it, Laurie was getting them in trouble when someone said “let’s write about The Wave”. Everyone agreed and because Laurie would be the one that would know a lot about it. Laurie went home and into her room. Her mom knocked on the door and came in. She told Laurie that the wave group was changing Robert. Her mom was worried that Laurie was going to change like that all because of The Wave. The next day Principal Owens came in to see Mr. Ross and told him that he better not go too far with this so that parents have to come in and complain. Laurie was in the publications office when she found a note that had been slid under the door. The note was about a boy that didn’t want to part of The Wave but his friends did and now his friends aren’t friends with him anymore, and a guy that was in the wave was going to beat him up if he didn’t join. In the hall way people had a banner that said Wave Rally on it, they were have a wave rally instead of a pep rally. Mr. Ross came out of principal office and Robert kept on flowing him down the hall. Robert said that he was following him because he didn’t want the leader of the wave to get hurt. Everyone went to The Wave rally saying the salute. Laurie wasn’t going in so David went to go talk to her they were talking and Laurie and David got made at each other and they broke up. Laurie ran in to her room and sat there Alex came in and talked to her. Than her dad came in because he heard that she broke up with David.

I think that Laurie is right about people getting way into The Wave group. There is just about everyone in the school that is in the group and for the people that don’t want to be in the group they are having a hard time staying out because for people that are in The Wave group are pretty much peer pressuring them to go in or else they will beat them up. Evan a pep rally is changed to call a Wave rally. Everything in that school is going to about the wave
I think next in the chapters the whole school is going to be about the Wave group going crazy about it. But then a whole bunch of parents are going to come to principal Owens office and start complaining about how “my child had completely changed and never stops talking about this group called the Wave”. After everyone leaves from complaining about the wave group, Principal Owens is going to go and talk to Mr. Ross. Mr. Owens is going to fire Mr. Ross because of what the students are doing and what Mr. Ross started, plus Mr. Owens already told Ben Ross to not too far with this Wave group. Than after that all of the students are going to be called to a meeting or else all of the teachers are going to talk to their classes and tell them that no one is going to be allowed to say or even think of the Wave group. They will have to pretend that the Wave group has never started in the first place. After that I think that maybe Laurie and David are going to get back together because David is going to apologise for how he yelled at her, and because she was right that everyone was a little bite into it and never thought about anything else.
The weather where I live in Snow Lake is so cold, you can stand outside for 10 minutes and you are frozen. The weather sometimes gets to about -40 or higher with the wind chill. For our Christmas break the weather is supposed to be around the -20 to -25.
Mr. Fisher said that it is going to a really cold for January and February, but my mom heard that it is supposed to be way warmer than in December. I really do hope that mom is right and not Mr. Fisher because there are so many things to do in the snow but you can’t do any thing when it is-40 or -30 because it is too cold.
I just bought a new ski-doo and I can’t ride it because it has been too cold these past couple of weeks. I never got to ride it once and I got it along time ago. I sure do hope that it will warm up after Christmas so that I can at least go out on the ski-doo once. My dad said that we are going to drive up to where we are going to Christmas instead so that we can take our ski-doo because it is supposed to be warmer there. We were going to fly but I rather take my ski-doo and travel for 9 hours instead of 2 hours.
I also want the weather to warm up so that I can go siding at honker hills because if it wasn’t bad outside, than we would go. I only got to once because I was staying at my cousin’s house because my mom was gone to Winnipeg and it was nice out that week end.
Here in Snow Lake lots of kids go to Honkers hill. The only bad thing about that hill is that it is so big that no one likes to walk back up the hill. I wish we could get a ski lift so we don’t waist all of our energy climbing up over and over again.
In the Chapters 5-8 was mostly and about what the class was learning and what they thought about that. It started off when the class came in quickly once instead of coming in late after the bell. On the board Ben Ross the teacher had Strength through Discipline. The whole class was wondering what that meant or was. Ben Ross was telling them what they must do for in his class. They had to sit in their chairs straight up and every time they were asking a question or answering a question they had to stand beside their desk and say “Mr. Ross…….”. The Class was over and everyone left. They day after that, at school on Ben Ross’s board it said “community”. This meant to be equally the same in every way, so that people never fight. Ben Ross told them that they were going to start a new group called The Wave. They talk about that then the class was over and they went to gym class. At gym class David thought that it would be good for the football team if they had a group like in their history class. But Eric thought that is was a very bad idea and that it was dumb. Laurie went home for dinner and her parents were talking about her father’s golf life. Finally later Laurie got a turn to talk she told them about the last 2 days in history class. Her mother didn`t like what they were doing and thought that it was not history class. The day after that Laurie and David meet up with each other on the walk to school. Laurie told David that her mother didn’t like the idea of what they were doing in history class. David thought that she was 100% wrong about that. They walked in the history class and on the board it said “Action”. As in never be afraid to ask on what you believe. Mr. Ross did his class and everyone left for lunch. In the lunch room all the Wave people sat at one table. Laurie was starting to think that her mom was right it wasn’t a history class. Everyone that sat at the table was nice to each other and was all equally the same.
I think that Laurie’s mom is right how she thinks that it is not a real history class it is totally out in the blue because they are learning words like “Community”, “Discipline” and “Action”. They could be history words but it has been 3 days in that class since they were the wave and they have not learned anything about history. Like the first day they were learning how to sit in their desk right so they had a good posture, and how to answer and ask a question. After that they had to answer questions but they still wasted around 3/4 of a class. The Second days they talk about Community witch maybe a little bit of history because a long time ago people were together as a “community” and they started the group called The Wave. The third day they learned about “action” witch could be history as in when you are a community don’t try and be like everyone else be yourself.
I understand how the 3 words (community, discipline, action) can go into being a group. Community is a group when everyone is equally the same in every way. Discipline could mean the leader might make it hard and give you discipline, but in the book he said that discipline could mean a good posture in you seat. Action could mean to be in a group but act yourself even if you are way different than everyone else, but I think that action means like it is you turn you have it all take action. Maybe on the fourth day in class they will be learning more history and not learning how to be a group. Maybe Ben Ross is going to be taking them on a trip to see what happened with the Natiz and wants them to act good, like a group so that the class is not going to fight because there answer is wrong or be a computations on how is better than the other, Ben Ross is trying to teach them in a different way.
In class we have to find a place that is outside of North America, for a person to go and work at. I picked New Delhi because I think it would be cool to go to India and New Delhi is the Capital so I thought that it would be the best place to be. In New Delhi there are around 14 million people there, the area of New Delhi is 42.7 km2. In New Delhi, the president lives there and her name is Pratibha Patil she was the first woman president. She had won over 300 000 votes.
The weather there is very hot compared to Canada; the average temperature year round is about 30 degree Celsius. There is a difference in time from Canada and New Delhi it is 11 1/2 hours. The languages that are most used in New Delhi are Punjabi, Hindi, and English. To get around New Delhi you need to go on a bus, taxis or your own car. Lots of people also like to walk or take little tour buses. Also a popular vehicle is a motorised scooter.
To get a flight there it is around $1,466.80 to get to New Delhi with two breaks for gas. For a hotel room it cost around $283 per night. Than to rent a house it will cost around $4000 per day. In New Delhi everything is lots of money compared to North America.
Most of my information is from pages on Google or on Wikipedia. For getting in contact I used flickr or YouTube the most. I never got any information back but I still have a couple more days. Next week I want to get my project done with research and done with the wiki page.
In the chapters 1-4 it was mostly about what they do and who they are. At the starting it was saying what people in high school were, and who the main characters are. They were starting a history class with Ben Ross, there were learning about war wold 2. They had to watch a movie that was about the Nazis and Germans. They watched the video and than the teacher talked to them and answered questions that the students had. There was 1 question that Ben Ross could not answer. After the class they all left for lunch, Laurie a girl that was in the class was bummed about what happened with the Nazis Germans. She was sad and could not eat her lunch. Her boyfriend thought that she was weird for thinking that it was such a big deal now that it had already happened. So her and her friend go outside for a smoke and they got locked out of the school. Than the teacher was at home with his wife reading a book and he looked kind of sad so his wife asked him what was wrong, he was bummed out because he couldn’t answer a question that a student asked.
My favourite part is when they watched the movie in there history class and than they ask questions and they left. After there class they got to go and eat, and then Laurie a class mate was bummed about the movie, so she never ate and her food. So her boyfriend a foot ball player was with her and he asked if he can eat her food, he wanted to eat it because they thought it would make him be big and gain weight because he has football game coming up and the people that he is going to play against, they are big and heavy so they can squash the players easily. I think that the author did a very good job of trying to describe the characters and how they school went. On most characters he said about there hair and what they look like or what they do in school. When he was describing the school and how the school is he said like the kids rush out of the classrooms fast but they take there time to go in, he also made Ben Ross the teacher compare to how school ran from when he was a kid to how school goes now days .and how there school looked like.
The rainforestis getting killed by people killing each other in a war and fight or global warming is making it rote because it is to hot and it dries all the water up from the ground and trees. There are many reasons why the rainforest is getting killed.
There were an estimated ten million Indians living in the Amazonian Rainforest five centuries ago. Today there are less than 200,000 Indians living there.
At least 3000 fruits are found in the rainforests; of these only 200 are now in use in the Western World. The Indians of the rainforest use over 2,000 of the fruits.
They are trying to keep the rainforest living for a long time so we can get things from the rainforest and so animals can have a longer life. They want to keep the rainforest as big as they can keep it.
One and one-half acres of rainforest are lost every second with tragic consequences for both developing and industrial countries. We are losing Earth’s greatest biological treasures just as we are beginning to appreciate their true value. Rainforests once before covered 14% of the earth’s land surface; now they cover a mere 6% and experts estimate that the last remaining rainforests could be consumed in less than 40 year.
This is where the rainforest are in the dark green.
